Permissions

Dooze asks for a few macOS permissions. Here is exactly what each one does and what happens if you decline.

Accessibility

Enables text selection capture and content insertion (Replace, Insert Below). Dooze uses the macOS Accessibility API to read what you select and write text back into your apps.

Without it: no automatic text capture, no writing back to apps.

Screen Recording

Enables OCR and screenshot capture modes (Cursor + Screen Text, Cursor + Screen Text + AI). Also required for meeting recording, Dooze captures system audio through this permission.

Without it: cursor-only capture mode, higher capture modes unavailable, and meeting recording cannot capture system audio.

Microphone

Enables voice input (transcription and dictation) and meeting recording. Dooze uses the microphone to capture your voice for local transcription via WhisperKit, and to record your side of meetings.

Without it: voice features and meeting recording are unavailable.

Media Player Control

Lets Dooze pause music during voice sessions and resume after you finish speaking.

Without it: music may play over your voice.

Granting permissions later

If you skip a permission during setup, Dooze will prompt you the moment you try to use a feature that needs it. You can grant it at any time.

Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > [permission name] and toggle Dooze on.
