Frequently asked questions
Is Dooze free?
Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited on-device models, meeting recording, transcription, Read Aloud with Apple voices, and custom skills. Lite and Heavy plans unlock cloud models, natural voices, and higher usage. See Models and tiers.
Does Dooze send my data to a server?
When you use cloud models, your messages are sent to AI providers to generate responses. The Dooze server routes these requests but does not store them. On-device models keep everything local. All conversations and memories are stored on your Mac. See Privacy.
Can I use Dooze offline?
Yes. On-device models, voice transcription, meeting recording, and Read Aloud with Apple voices all work without an internet connection. Cloud models and cloud voices require a connection.
What models does Dooze support?
On-device models via MLX, plus cloud models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI. The available cloud models depend on your plan.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Settings > Account > Manage Subscription. This opens the Stripe billing portal.
Does Dooze work with my app?
Dooze works with any macOS app through the Accessibility API. Some web editors like Gmail and Notion work best with the browser extension installed.
Why does Dooze need Accessibility permission?
To read text you select in other apps and to insert polished or summarized text back into those apps. See Permissions.
Can I delete all my data?
Yes. All data is stored locally. Delete the app, or remove the data folder at ~/Library/Application Support/app.dooze.client/.
